Known Pleasures

I apparently missed the whole twitter hype on “joyplots”, aptly named after the album cover of Unknown Pleasures.

Now there is a CRAN package to create these ridgeline plots, so everybody can have some fun. These plots are useful to visualise distributions of data to compare them on the same scale. Or you can just make some cool looking chart that is actually very confusing.
